Maisy Ling is a Partner in East IP’s Guangzhou office, where she specializes in anti-counterfeiting, intellectual property enforcement and litigation. She brings over 23 years’ professional experience advising domestic and international brand owners on anti-counterfeiting strategies, criminal investigations, administrative raids, criminal litigation, civil actions incidental to criminal proceedings, post-criminal civil litigation, cross-border e-commerce infringement disputes and customs protection.

Maisy has advised leading domestic and international brand owners and has led coordinated enforcement programs involving criminal investigations, administrative enforcement and complex civil litigation. Her experience includes high-value punitive damages litigation, cross-border counterfeit enforcement actions, and significant trademark infringement and unfair competition disputes.

Work Highlights

  • Acted as lead counsel and matter planner in a series of cross-border e-commerce counterfeit cases in the Hainan Free Trade Port, which was recognized as a leading IP protection case by multiple authorities and industry organizations.
  • Extensive experience in punitive damages litigation, including successful matters for a German chemical company and a luxury brand, with damages awards reaching RMB 3.21 million in a single case and RMB 6.08 million in another.
  • Represented a U.S. luxury brand in an anti-counterfeiting campaign that disrupted five counterfeit supply chains and cut off counterfeit supply for one year.
  • Represented a U.S. group company in a trademark dispute, and a Sweden brand in a case involving the unauthorized use of a registered trademark and unfair competition.
