Ms. Yu obtained her Juris Master degree from Renmin University of China, and joined the firm in 2011.

Ms. Yu represents clients ranging from startups, to Fortune 500 multinational corporations in various industries, such as hospitality, technology, social networking, manufacturing, and food.

Ms. Yu has successfully handled hundreds of trademark prosecution matters before the CNIPA, as well as numerous trademark court appeals and infringement lawsuits before Beijing courts and other courts, administrative complaints before local administrative authorities. She has also successfully handledvarious domain name disputes and other IP related matters for clients.

Work Highlights

  • Successfully defended one of the world’s largest hard drive manufacturers in a trademark infringement suit before the Guangdong High Court. The Court affirmed that our client did not commit any act of infringement and dismissed all re-trial requests of the plaintiff.
  • Won court appeals representing Las Vegas Sands before the Beijing First Intermediate Court, the Beijing IP Court, and the Beijing High Court, obtaining favorable judgments affirming the validity of the Las Vegas Sands’ marks.
  • Won court appeals representing Yelp before the Beijing First Intermediate Court, removing pre-emptive registrations, while clearing path for the registration of the client’s own marks in core classes.
  • Won court appeals representing Office Depot before the Beijing First Intermediate Court, to successfully remove bad faith marks filed by squatters to safeguard the client’s brands and goodwill.
  • Won numerous oppositions and invalidations before the CNIPA representing various multinational companies, preventing squatters from securing registration and removing bad faith marks from the registry, obtaining recognition of the widespread fame for the client’s trademarks, thereby safeguarding the client’s valuable brands.
  • Won multiple domain name complaint actions under UDRP policy and CNDRP policy, representing world leading companies from various industries.
