Ms. Zhang obtained her Master’s Degree from Chinese University of Hong Kong and joined the firm in 2019, following several years of practicing on other leading Chinese law firms. She represents clients ranging from startups to leading multinational corporations in the areas of finance, media, pharmaceuticals, the Internet and technology.

  • Represents Thomson Reuters, Refinitiv, etc. in trademark portfolio management and brand protection in China, including trademark filing strategy, copyright recordals, domain name disputes, actions against preemptive registrations, etc.
  • Won various oppositions and invalidations before the CNIPA representing Yahoo!, WhatsApp, Autodesk, Gilead, in the process removing bad faith marks filed by squatters to safeguard the clients’ goodwill.
  • Successfully prevailed in oppositions and invalidations representing startup companies, removing pre-emptive registrations while clearing path for the registration of the clients’ own marks in core classes.
