Mr. Li began his career in the IP field in 2001, after an earlier career as an English teacher in Hangzhou. He has extensive expertise in enforcement and litigation of complex IP matters, particularly those involving trademark and copyright. Before joining East IP, he was Vice President of Sinofaith, a leading brand protection service provider.  

Mr. Li’s tailored IP protection strategies have proven effective, earning him a strong reputation among clients.  Many of his cases received recognition as precedent-setting industry benchmarks. He possesses a deep understanding of the IP challenges faced by multinational companies expanding into China, with experience accumulated across 20 years of experience, serving more than 100 Fortune 500 companies across diverse industries.

  • Representing a US printing supply client in successfully managing investigations and enforcement work against a national network of producers and distributors of counterfeits.
  • Representing a Korea mobile phone company to investigate a smuggling ring and bring a halt to the violations with the support of the Anti-Smuggling Bureau of Chinese customs.
  • Representing a US pesticide brand in acting against a cross-border counterfeiting ring, resulting in the successful extradition of the mastermind from Cambodia to China.
  • Representing a US software giant in its first civil action in China in a case involving embedded software.
