Irene Liu has rich experience advising on trademark protection strategy, providing value-added advice on well-known trademarks, certification and collective marks, non-traditional trademarks, counseling on trademark licensing, administrative court appeals, negotiation and purchase.

She advises extensively on a wide range of other IP matters in China, including copyright and customs recordation and protection, trademark infringement, domain name disputes and unfair competition.

Irene has managed trademark portfolio for many multinational and SME clients in a wide range of industries, including consumer electronics, apparel, accessories and luxury goods, food and beverage, skincare and cosmetics, computer software, toys, media and entertainment, among others.

She has been working in the IP field for over 20 years. Prior to joining East IP, she was working in both Hong Kong law firms and Chinese IP firms.

She currently serves on the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Trademark Office Practices Committee (TOPC).

Irene obtained her bachelor degree from China University of Politics and Law, and obtained legal profession qualification in 2008.

She speaks fluent Mandarin and English.
